Le Cinéma

A beautiful and stylised short web-series about the magic of cinema

Do you remember the first time you went to the cinema?

Do you remember how magical it was?

There are three episodes in this series each of them being no longer than three minutes in length;

EPISODE 1:

'Tony'

- A man approaches the box office, only to be overwhelmed with movie choices by a seemingly inconsiderate staff member.

EPISODE 2:

'Maddi'

- A woman watches a film, and upset by the man who accompanies her, she leaves. In true cinema fashion, we realise her circumstances through actions, not words.

EPISODE 3:

'Forever Here'

- A man is the last to leave the cinema when another movie starts. The film is familiar, and the man is enveloped by the true magic of cinema.

My Role:

In this production I had two roles, one in pre-production and another in post-production.

In pre-production I was the 1st Assistant Director.

For this role I completed the Call Sheets, there were a total of four. Part of that was the completion of the Risk Assessment which needed to be done for each location. We had three; Bare Island in La Perouse, The Ritz Cinema in Randwick and The Golden Age Cinema in Surry Hills.

I also assisted in casting, by creating all the forms needed for the auditions and giving the Casting Director all the details of everyone auditioning.

In post-production I was the BTS/Featurette Editor.

For this role I edited our crowdfunding video, as well as five featurette videos.

There was a featurette series that stands alongside our web-series with three parts, each with a length of a minute and a half, with interviews with some of the crew; Director, Producer and Editor.

There is the main featurette with the length of three minutes, including B-Roll, and On-Set interviews with the cast and crew with an introduction from the Director.
